the return of labyrinthitis, and threadless sale

For those of you who didn't read my f-bomb-dropping f-locked post about back pain on Sunday, here it is in short: Saturday night, as I was coming down the stairs, something went spwang! in the muscles of my middle back, and they've been hurting ever since. Especially painful on Sunday, and so Janet took me to a Chinese doctor recommended by her uncle; he massaged the muscles, and did some other things with his fingers to my spine that seemed to straighten it a bit, then cracked both my back and my neck (which took me by surprise, I can tell you). He said that a young guy like me should heal in a few days, and to drink lots of water and cooling drinks (especially fruit juice), and to move my back muscles as little as possible.

I have felt better since the visit, and I'm guessing that in a few more days, I'll be fine. However, something else seems to have popped up: a recurrence of the labyrinthitis that reared its ugly head almost three and a half years ago. I've been suffering from a low-grade vertigo that is really only noticeable if I turn my head too quickly. However, it also screws up my vision a bit, so that it's hard to concentrate on the computer screen, as if the black letters were fidgety ants that all want to be somewhere else. (It's taking me forever to compose this post, btw.) It's still mild enough that I don't want to see a doctor for it yet, but if it hasn't gone away in the next couple of days, I will. Want to make sure my inner ears are five-by-five before heading off to Phuket next week.

So my internet viewing has been very much reduced this week. However, I did want to pass along this incredibly important news:

This week only, Threadless is having their Summer Blockbuster Sale, which means that many t-shirts on the site are discounted as low as US$10. The offer ends on Sunday, 8 June, so best take advantage of it quicksharp.

I don't know how many more I can get, since my dresser drawer is currently stacked full of tees, but these are the ones that caught my eye:

I also liked these, but they're out of stock at the moment (foo!):

If you're going to buy something in the sale, please do use this link as your entry point, as I get points for any referrals I make, which goes toward credit for more shirts!
